The intent of our RE curriculum is to engage, inspire, challenge and encourage pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to answer questions, explore different religious beliefs, values and traditions and develop a more rigorous understanding of the numerous, beliefs and practices that are followed in our multi-cultural society.
The progression document below shows the key knowledge and skills children are expected to have acquired for each year group.
Our Religious Education curriculum follows the agreed syllabus for RE in Northamptonshire called 'Growing Together'.
Class teachers deliver this broad and balanced curriculum in hands-on and engaging ways. The lessons are supplemented by visits to local places of religious interest, visitors representing a range of faiths and by children taking part in local religious festivals.
Assessment of RE is conducted by class teachers using children’s work from their class learning book and Seesaw. This assessment is regular and informs planning for future lessons.
