Local Governing Board

Stephen Townsend

(Chair of Governors)

In a varied career, the thing I got the greatest kick from was delivering personal development courses which resulted in people raising their self-confidence and self-esteem. In the last fifteen years my life has revolved around voluntary and charitable work, including seven years managing housing for homeless families whom we supported in regaining their independence.  As well as Governor and Chair experience, I’m also a trustee of Campfire Education Trust.

I am currently Chair of a small charity which has twelve almshouses; the buildings being very old which give us far more headaches than the residents! Relaxation includes cycling, walking and cooking.

Rev Liz Adams

(Community Governor)

"I am the Reverend at the local church, Castle Hill United Reformed Church. I work closely with many organisations in the local area, helping support families and individuals. In my spare time I like to watch Northampton Town Football club and spend time with my family."

Laura Brown

(Staff Governor)

"I have been a member of the Spring Lane team since 2015. I am currently the Assistant Head Teacher with responsibility for teaching, learning and assessment. I enjoy teaching all subjects but my specialisms are maths, PE and music. Outside of school I spend time running around after my three lively boys, and when I can find the time I also enjoy keeping active by going to the gym and playing netball."

Adam Shanahan

(Staff Governor)

"I have taught at Spring Lane for almost eight years after previously having taught as a cover supervisor in a large secondary school. I studied for my degree as a mature student whilst teaching full time. This gave me a solid understanding of the difficulties of maintaining a healthy work/life balance. This helps me ensure that new policies and strategies would help all staff in this regard, as well as benefiting the children of Spring Lane."

Tracey Moxon

(SEND Governor)

My name is Tracey Moxon and I have recently retired from teaching after 36 years in primary education.

I am delighted to continue to work with children as a governor at Spring Lane, and am also training to be a celebrant, so still very busy!

Rob Goldring

(Governor)

I have been a Primary School teacher for 20 years, working in 4 different schools in Northamptonshire over that time.

I now work full-time for New Life Church Northampton, with part of my job focused on building relationships within the local community, which includes Spring Lane Primary School. I am married, have four children and am a big fan of Ipswich Town.
